GCSE Results 2022

GCSE and VTQ Results August 2022

Congratulations to all our students who collected their GCSE and Vocational results today. It was wonderful to be able to celebrate their successes with them and discuss their next steps and exciting plans for the future. Our Year 11 students have worked tirelessly hard in the past two years, showing resilience and determination and there are many excellent results, of which we know they will be feeling very proud right now.

These results again show that King’s Academy Prospect is going from strength to strength and in the first year of public exams since 2019, these results show a considerable improvement in all areas – an increase of 7% for students achieving a strong pass or higher in English and Maths and a 5% increase in students achieving a standard pass, exceeding FFT50 targets in almost all areas and meeting FFT20 in several other key targets.

We would like to send heartfelt congratulations to the following students in the year group:  Eve, Mariamou, Kadey and Aroushan all surpassed their aspirational targets and were amongst out highest achievers as were Ellie, Bryan C, Cullen and Skye. These students achieved 30 grade 7s, 17 grade 8s, 4 grade 9s and 4 Level 2 Distinctions* between them.  Amongst our top students in terms of progress were also Fatima, Mahi, Mieszko and Amjal, who exceeded their aspirational targets in their different subjects.

A special mention must be made to all our international students, but especially Suhaib, Ishak, Thanas, Chris and Shehroz. These students joined King’s Academy Prospect in late 2021 or 2022 and have achieved some great results in their subjects today.

Finally, a mention to Aliyah J and Sean, who have both demonstrated an exceptionally positive attitude to their studies throughout the last two years and have both received some outstanding results.

Headteacher David Littlemore said:

“I am extremely proud to be Headteacher at King’s Academy Prospect today, with a set of results that demonstrates the fortitude, resilience and sheer hard work of an exceptional group of young people. I am delighted for not only our students, but also for our wider community as KAP goes from strength to strength, providing an extremely high standard of education for west Reading and Tilehurst.

We are all looking forward to welcoming many of our students back into the Sixth Form to further their education, and for those that are moving on to pastures new, we wish them all the very best; I know that they will become useful members of society and continue to make a positive contribution in the future.

I would also like to pay credit to our wonderful staff who worked tirelessly to ensure our students received the highest quality of teaching to ensure that students made significant progress and achieved their full potential”
