Sociology

AQA Sociology is a very popular course at Prospect and the results over the last few years have been outstanding. Although the topics and subject matter will be new to students, it is very relevant to your everyday lives. If you are interested in finding out about the society that we live in, this is the course for you.

Entry Requirements

5 C's at GCSE, including English.

AS Sociology

Areas Studied:

  • Family (Divorce, Diversity, Breakdown, Childhood, Politics)
  • Education (Why girls do better than boys. Why the rich do better than the poor. Government Policies).

A2 Sociology

Areas Studied:

  • British Politics - What is power, are the political parties the same?
  • Crime and Deviance - Who commits crime and what is a deviant act?

If you want to understand modern Britain this is the course for you, as Gandhi said, "You must be the change you want to see in the world".
