Modern Foreign Languages
The MFL department consists of a team of dedicated and experienced linguists whose aim is to help students not only to develop their language skills in a variety of contexts but also to broaden their understanding of the culture and communities where the languages are spoken. We’re passionate about the benefits learning a language brings. Language learning is a skill for life and one which is increasingly sought after in today’s global economy.
Prospect MFL department runs a number of trips abroad including day trips to Boulogne, France and residential trips to Cologne, Germany and Paris, France.

We follow the AQA GCSE French and German specifications. Students take an exam in all four skills – Listening, Speaking, Reading and Writing - at the end of year 11.
Key Stage 5
French and German are taught to A level, following the AQA specification.
