Politics at Prospect is an interesting and exciting course about issues that affect our everyday lives. We aim to give students a critical understanding of British society. A genuine interest in discussing current political issues  that affect people’s lives is a key ingredient of success at this subject. You will greatly enhance your communication skills, (both written and verbal)  and  gain a far wider understanding of the world and the country in which you live ,This should enable you to appreciate far more about information that you read,  see on TV and social media

You are most likely to enjoy Politics if you have ever thought any of the following things:-

  • How democratic is Britain ?
  • Why did we vote for BREXIT ?
  • Should 16 year olds be able to vote ?
  • How important is the media in influencing our vote ?
  • How similar are the political parties ?
  • Is race still important in the USA ?

Career Opportunities

Politics is valuable for those students interested in Higher Education or considering a job in the professions such as law, media, public services and teaching. It requires the development of analytical, critical and evaluative skills – all highly regarded by universities and the professions The subject is also very relevant to management training and the business world.
